BSc. MICROBIOLOGY

This is a degree program that provides students with in depth knowledge of the biology of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses. The program covers key areas such as bacterial cell structure and metabolism, viral replication mechanisms, fungal growth and reproduction, microbial genetics, host microbe interactions, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial ecology. It integrates strong theoretical foundations with extensive hands on laboratory training to ensure that students develop both scientific understanding and practical technical competence. The program is highly relevant in addressing contemporary challenges in public health, food safety, agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability, where microorganisms play critical roles in disease causation and control, food production, soil fertility, waste management, and industrial processes.
